Year of the Water Tiger

The Chinese New Year follows the lunar calendar and falls a bit after the standard calendar New Year. The Chinese zodiac cycle rotates through a series of 12 animals and five elements, totaling 60 different combinations that play out one year at a time. Each combination brings with it a unique energy which expresses throughout that year. As of February 1st, 2022, we officially enter the Year of the Water Tiger.

The Tiger is a powerful expression of Yang Qi. It is mighty, courageous, and decisive. The energy of the Tiger is all about moving forward fearlessly and taking on all challenges without wavering. It is an energy of action and new beginnings.

The Water is Yin in nature. It relates to emotions and is an energy of deep feeling and intuition, as well as being able to flow and adapt to any situation.

When the Water and Tiger meet, this pair makes a powerful combination for setting out on new endeavors and creating new things in our lives. Whether it be work and career or educational pursuits, or home life and relationships, the Water Tiger gives us the energy and flexibility to accomplish just about anything. This is a great time to start a new business, create a new relationship, or move to a new location. Most importantly, we must remember to let our inner creativity shine. Fearlessly and unashamedly. This is a year to start taking action on the things we've always wanted to do.

So here's to the Year of the Water Tiger. May we all strive to be true to ourselves and bring our dreams into reality.
